PASSPORT, VISA, ELECTRONIC TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION
- All participants from outside Canada must have a valid passport.
- In addition, to find out if you need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) or a visitor visa, please go to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp.
Some participants may require a visitor visa.
Official invitation letters to apply for a visitor visa to Canada will be sent upon request to all participants who have paid their conference registration fee. Send your request of an official invitation letter to the event organizers : firstname.lastname@example.org.
It is the participant’s responsibility to apply for the visa and obtain it before travelling to Canada.
To obtain a visa application form, visit the nearest embassy, high commissioner or Canadian consulate as soon as possible. Further information, including the list of documents required for a Canadian visa is available on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website.
Please note that event organizers have no power or authority to influence the visa-issuing process.
NEW ENTRY RULE! APPLY FOR AN ELECTRONIC TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION (eTA).
Starting in 2016, a new entry requirement came in effect : visa-exempt foreign nationals who fly to or transit through Canada need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
Exceptions to this new entry rule include:
- U.S. citizens
- Travellers with a valid Canadian visa
The eTA application costs $7 CAD, and takes only a few minutes to complete online.
You will need a valid passport, a credit card and an email address. Most applications are approved within a matter of minutes.
